Are you looking for a credit card with no credit check and no deposit because you’re worried your credit is too bad to get a regular credit card?
The bad news is there’s no such thing as a credit card with no credit check. All credit cards require a credit check, even if you pay a deposit.
The good news is that you can still get a credit card with bad credit. Have you checked your credit lately? If not, here’s how to get a free credit report:
- Go to AnnualCreditReport.com. Here, you can get one free credit report each year from each of the major credit bureaus. The three bureaus are: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. The bureaus are companies that keep records of your accounts and if you have paid your bills on time.
- Fill out a form on the site. The form will require information like your name, date of birth and U.S. Social Security Number.
- Prove your identity. You will then need to answer questions about your past to show that you are really you. For example, you may have to name a street you lived on or the bank that gave you a car loan.
- Get and review your free credit reports. Look for negative items like late payments. Too many of these may mean you have bad credit.
If you have bad credit, it’s not the end of the world. You can get a credit card with no deposit and use it to improve your credit so you can get a better card later.
